Our Chinese curriculum is well-structured, designed systematically, and includes a unique blend of practices, such as listening, speaking, reading, writing and typing, and real world Chinese applications. Beginner Chinese Class
This beginner Chinese class helps develop accurate pronunciation through the Pinyin system. The learning goal is to develop basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities in Mandarin Chinese with 50 words commonly used in daily conversation.

As a tonal language, Mandarin Chinese is often difficult for non-native Chinese speakers to discern and reproduce. We have developed an approach that helps effectively distinguish the 4 Chinese tones and pronounce these sounds.

Chinese Level 1, 2 and 3 Classes
We offer Adult Chinese Level 1 classes, Adult Chinese Level 2 classes, and Adult Chinese Level 3 classes. These comprehensive courses cover listening, speaking, reading, and typing in either traditional or simplified Mandarin Chinese for adults who wish to work in China or do business with China. These courses help with Chinese conversation, traveling in China, texting in Chinese, and surfing/reading the web in Chinese.

Business Mandarin Classes
This is a continuation of Chinese Level 1, 2, and 3 developed for adult professionals to read/send emails in Chinese, present in Chinese, conduct business meetings in Chinese, and learn Chinese business + workplace etiquette.

HSK Classes
This Chinese class is designed to help adult professionals who wish to work in China or with Chinese companies pass the HSK* Exam.

*The HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) test is China's only official test of Chinese language proficiency for non-native speakers. The HSK test was developed in 1984 and the first HSK test was held overseas in 1991.
Conversational Chinese Classes
This is a continuation of Chinese Level 1, 2, and 3 developed to help with real life conversations. We teach the vocabulary and expressions of a specific topic (e.g. travel, business, cafe, etc.) and provide a space for students to speak casually with one another in the presence of a teacher, who corrects mistakes and offers conversational tips. This is the best way to learn Chinese!

Group Chinese Classes
In-Person or Online
We offer in-person Chinese classes and online Chinese classes. Our Chinese tutors will help ensure progress at your own pace and lessons can NOT be rescheduled 48 hours’ notice before your lessons start — see our policy page for more details. Our Chinese tutors can meet our students at their home, a place near their school, or at the Jade Chinese school center.

In addition, we enrich our student’s Chinese learning experience with optional activities involving Chinese culture, which include Chinese videos, Chinese performances, and Chinese traditional holiday celebrations, supplement materials, and/or immersion trips to Chinese-speaking countries like China or Taiwan.
